Marco Pantani was considered by most one of the cycling world's best climbers. With his trade mark bandana, earrings and goatee, the Pirate was always looking to steal the day in the high mountains. Pantani’s attacking style and aggressive riding turned him into a fan favorite in the late 1990s. And his early passing in 2004, at age 34, was a great loss for cycling fans everywhere.
